Hill Country Weavers

Eden excels at commercial remodels - this is one of our unique specialties that really sets us apart. We love the opportunity to work with a building (exterior and interior) to give a full transformation to a commercial building. For this project, we collaborated with Hill County Weavers, a south Austin knitting shop, on creating a garden for their brand new Manchaca Road location.

Amy Hovis brought her experience as a commercial general contractor and designer to update the original 1950s exterior. We also introduced custom hardscape elements to define the space and create dramatic impact. These elements included custom steel trellises, custom steel planters and edging, stucco walls, and gravel flex space. Then we came in with soil amendments, drainage solutions and care for heritage trees.

Finally, we identified the perfect tough-yet-beautiful plant palette and hand-selected each and every plant that was installed. Many of these are dye plants that be used in Hill Country Weavers educational program. Others create habitat value and attract pollinators, bringing life to what was before a lifeless landscape.
This is a completely customized garden that brings so much attention and traffic to the business. The shop staff and customers alike love walking through the magical space every day! We enjoy seeing the way our work can transform a business and increase its clientele.
