Our Process

As a design/build firm, Eden oversees landscape projects from start to finish. We are known for creating dramatic impact by integrating well-designed hardscape and stunning native planting.

Our design team crafts a Master Landscape Plan for each project, and once the design is established we execute the build-out and installation.  We believe that the design/build model is the most efficient and effective way of approaching a project: it offers total accountability, a culture of collaboration and innovation, project continuity, frequent communication, time savings and an overall streamlined process.

We love what we do!

1. Initial Consultation

We meet with you on site to determine the scope of work and identify the vision and goals for the project.  During this meeting we get to know you and your property. We’ll also discuss your overall budget and strategies for implementation so that we can design to your budget.

2.  Design Services

After the initial consultation, you receive a design contract along with a flat-rate design fee.  Fees for design are based on the scope of work and typically range from $7,500-$25,000. Our design fee pays for itself by the first few creative directions we bring to a project, in offering effective solutions - saving time, effort and money.  

We employ a collaborative approach with clients, architects, builders and interior designers and excel at working with a team. We are adept at working with a variety of design styles and considerations. During the design phase, we analyze the architecture of your home or business, the terrain, soil conditions, drainage considerations, privacy issues, budget parameters, value of the property, etc.

Our Master Plans are complete design packages that include the overall site plans, perspective drawings, inspiration images, material choices, hardscape plan, complete planting plan, build-out details and design for lighting and irrigation.

Design fees are separate from installation fees.

3.  Build-Out/Installation

Once the design is established and approved, you will receive an estimate for build-out and installation of your project.  A minimum budget for an Eden project installation is $75,000. Typical overall project budgets range from $75,000 to $650,000.  

For a completely new landscape or a complete remodel, a standard landscape construction budget is typically 10-20% of the value of the property.  We install many of our projects in phases and can also address specific, smaller projects; for example, the addition of an outdoor kitchen or a swimming pool remodel.

Eden’s skilled installation team consists of gardeners, masons, welders, carpenters, and irrigation and lighting specialists.  We ensure all construction complies with required codes and our superior standards.

We excel at project management and ensuring the implementation and integrity of our designs during installation.  Our jobs are completed on budget and on schedule, and we bring professionalism and positivity to each project.

4.  Long-Term Maintenance

We include one to two Eden follow-up visits after your landscape installation is complete, in order to ensure plant health and optimal functioning of irrigation and lighting systems.  Regular, skilled garden maintenance is crucial in assuring the long-term success of your landscape, and we refer local garden maintenance companies for on-going care and irrigation monitoring. Maintenance visits can range from biweekly to monthly to quarterly, and it’s important to consider this continuing expense when budgeting for a project.
